GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
On Monday, April 30th, Holly Hall Wilson celebrated her First Annual Philanthropy Night with the local community. The event was held to announce the recipient of the $10,000 endowment to the charity chosen by the residents of Wimberley. Members of the community had an opportunity to vote online at www.hillcountrylistings.com for their favorite non-profit organization.
The choices included Animal Referral Friends (ARF), a local animal rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption clearinghouse, Hill Country Recreation Association (HCRA), a youth baseball, softball and basketball organization that utilizes the Sonny Gold Ballpark, Ray of Hope (RoH), a foundation started to provide a haven for recovering alcoholics, and Swimberley, an organization that wants to bring a swim park for the community.
The representatives of each organization, local “voters”, and the Hill Country Listings staff enjoyed an evening of music and mingling. The “winner” of the online voting was Swimberley. Craig Reitz graciously received the generous donation given by Holly Hall Wilson. As a surprise to all, Holly also decided to give back even more to the community. She also donated three more checks to assist the other non-profits present. The amount reflects the percentage of votes received online. HCRA received $1,000, ARF received $500 and Ray of Hope received $250.
What a great night had by all. Thank you, Wimberley!
